Findings:
MRI of the brain showing multiple bilateral subependymal nodule following gray matter signal.
Diagnosis:
Discussion:
This case illustrates multiple subependymal heterotopia. Lesions are isointense to gray matter on all sequences. Subependymal nodules in tuberous sclerosis are easily differentiated because they do not follow gray matter and most of them calcify showing T2 hypointensity. In addition the other sequela of tuberous sclerosis may be present. Heterotopia is associate with a spectrum of other congenital anomalies such as Chiari malformations, holoprocencephaly, dysgenesis of corpus collosum and encephalocele.
