Case 1
History:
35 year old male presented with knee pain and limited extension 10 months post-arthroscopic repair of a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
Findings:
Sagittal and axial MRI images of the knee showing a well-circumscribed soft tissue mass protruding anteriorly between the femoro-tibial joint space.
Diagnosis:
Discussion:
A cyclops lesion is a nodular structure formed by fibrous granulation tissue usually located anteriorly along the ACL graft. A cyclops lesion may develop from the residual native ACL stump or may develop from a primarily torn, non-repaired ACL tear. The patients complained of limited knee extension. The lesions are usually amenable to arthroscopic resection.
