Orthopaedic Imaging
About Our Services
Orthopaedic imaging is a highly specialized area of radiology focused on evaluation of pathology related to bones, joints, muscles, and soft tissue. At AAR, our orthopaedic imaging program is led by Mitali Bapna, MD. Dr. Bapna received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology from Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Under her direction, we offer a comprehensive range of musculoskeletal imaging services including arthography, CT, MRI and X-ray.
A Clear Vision for Better Patient Care

A 27 year old female runner complained of progressively worsening pain in the middle of her ankle. MRI examination of the ankle by an AAR radiologist diagnosed Accessory Navicular Syndrome, a painful condition caused when a congenital extra bone or piece of cartilage in the ankle is aggravated due to trauma, poorly-fitting footwear or excessive activity. The condition may be treated with medication, physical therapy, orthotic devices or surgery, depending on the severity.
